In Columbus, the busiest hours are Friday and Saturday evenings and any night with a big game, when quoted delivery times can stretch past an hour; ordering before 5 p.m. or picking up yourself avoids the wait. Delivery radiuses are small, often two to five miles, and a minimum order plus a delivery fee is normal, with a tip of a few dollars for the driver on top. Lunch specials such as two slices and a drink, or a personal pie, are the cheapest way to eat at most shops across Ohio on weekdays. Toppings are priced per item and half-and-half pies are usually free to request. Gluten-free crusts and vegan cheese are increasingly common but often cost a few dollars extra, and cross-contact in a shared oven is standard unless the shop says otherwise.

Columbus is in Ohio, in the Midwest, where summers are warm, winters are cold and snowy, and most errands are done by car; businesses keep steady year-round hours with the usual holiday changes. US addresses list the street number and name, then the city, state abbreviation and ZIP code, and Columbus follows the same pattern; a suite or apartment number such as Ste 200 refers to a unit inside the building. The place looks awesome. We came in and were greated and seated immediately. Our waitress quickly took our drink order but didn't bring drinks until our food was served. The Cheesy Bread is awesome. The pizza too sweet for us. The dough is overly sweet and chewy. The sandwiches I saw looked and smelled good.

So I just walked in there to pick up a pizza and people kept saying hello. It kind of shocked me, tbh! It was the staff and they were so friendly and welcoming! That's something you rarely see anymore and it was so nice to experience again. A few people I interacted with made small talk too, which is even more of a rarity in this modern world. I'm old school and it was very much appreciated. I can't believe in almost 50 years of life I've never been in Planks, seeing as Cbus is my hometown and always has been, but I will absolutely be returning with my significant other π€ Thanks Planks staff!! Oh yeah! Pizza was great! Has a kinda sweet, crunchy crust to it and those crispy pepperoni...π

This was my first time trying Plankβs and I can see why people have been going there for so long. The pizza had that old school neighborhood pizza feel right away. The crust had a nice crisp edge, the cheese was baked well, and the sausage and banana peppers gave it a lot of flavor without being too much, the sauce is as locals prefer, a little on the sweet side. It looked simple, but in a good way. Calling my order in was super easy. Solid first impression and definitely somewhere Iβd order from again.

If atmosphere and vibe are what you seek, Planks is your place. This place hits all of the right feels. With family pictures and hometown history galore, I felt like I walked into an episode of Cheers when I said it was my first time visiting and the staff hollered back, βWell where have you been?β I practically expected Norm to be there with a beer in hand. This is the place where old timers come by daily just to catch up on anything they didnβt talk about yesterday. It really is a slice of warm feels. As for Planksβ food, I ordered a large pep, sausage, and extra cheese pizza to go. Service was quick and incredibly kind. The crust was cracker crisp but the toppings were sparse. What is instantly noticeable however is the sweet taste. As in REALLY sweet, which is just not my thing. The sweet and smokey pizza flavor is just a touch overbearing for my taste and it likely will keep me away. It breaks my heart to give Planks a 3 out 5 because the staff and vibes are perfect. I just wish they kept their sweetness out of their pizza.

I went on a Tuesday evening and sat at the bar. I got a large pepperoni and sausage to go. I had a couple drinks while I waited. Bartender was very nice and social. I have to say their Pizza is fantastic I used to go there with my grandma and grandpa back in the day and the one I had recently was just as good they've got something secret in that crust and it's sweet!
